Three wins have seen Exeter B reach second place in Division 1. The team of Sue Colwill & Mark Trebble, Vicky Prouse & Sam Lees and Hannah Oxley & Jamie Roberton beat Ringswell A 9-0, although with four rubbers going to a deciding third end Ringswell were unlucky not to salvage a point. Just two days later the same Exeter B side faced Cranford, beating them 6-3, Sue and Mark were the only unbeaten pair in this match. Exeter B’s next opponents were Sidmouth A who they beat 5-4, but it was the Sidmouth pair of Ruth Scrivens & John Carter who shone on the night winning all three of their rubbers.
In Division 2a, St Leonards C celebrated their first win of the season beating Ringswell C 6-3 although Ringswell unfortunately had to concede two games due to an injury. Elaine Nicholson & Rami Yedidi were unbeaten for St Leonards. The St Leonards B team of Jill McCord & Tim Wardale, Astrid Janssens & Andy Rowe and Kay Brewer & Leo Robbins beat Ringswell C 9-0 although the Ringswell duo of Nicky Latham & Phil Matthews were unlucky not to score for Ringswell, pushing all the St Leonards pairs to a third end.
Otter Vale showed why they are top of the table in Division 2b when the team of Heather Rake & Brian Deem, Teresa Simic & Ray Puttick & Su Cotton & David Lloyd beat their B team 9-0. Hannah & John Down led the way for Chulmleigh with an unbeaten display when their team beat Sidmouth B 5-4. The other Chulmleigh pairs of Hannah Hernon & Matt Older and Karen Parrish & Adrian Bourner each picked up a point.
The Clyst Vale A team of Ann Bromage & Nigel German, Jennie Edwards & James Allum and Lucy Ferrier & Dan Cordey have beaten Clyst Vale B 8-1 and St Leonards E 6-3 with Ann & Nigel being unbeaten in both matches. Clyst Vale B’s point came from Irene Newcombe & Patrick Cordey. Honiton beat Axminster 6-3 with Helena Williams & Roger Tucker winning three points, Janet Ingram & Ethan Leach, two and Sue Caller & Matt Durrant, one.
