Queens continue their unbeaten run at the top of Division 2 with wins over Sidmouth A, St Leonards C and Otter Vale A. It was a hard fought match against Sidmouth A with seven rubbers being decided in the third end, but with Hannah Preece & Ben Herbert unbeaten for Queens they emerged 6-3 winners. Queens went on to beat both St Leonards C and Otter Vale A 9-0, Darren Frisby was unbeaten in both matches partnered by Kate Povey against Otter Vale and Sarah Preece against St Leonards C. Kate was also unbeaten against St Leonards C partnered by Nick Masson. Otter Vale A beat Sidmouth A 5-4, although Sidmouth were only able to raise two pairs, no Otter Vale pair were able to beat the Sidmouth duo of Ruth Scrivens & John Carter. The St Leonards B team of Astrid Jannsens & Mark Newson, Jess Hand & Andy Rowe and Kay Brewer & Malcolm Travis beat Ringswell B 5-4.
Sidmouth B remain top of Division 2B after beating Raleigh 8-1. Ann Price & Paul Carter and Linda McCracken & Steve Pritchard were unbeaten with the remaining two points being won by Grace Williams & James Newcombe. The Ringswell C team of Richard McFarlane & Jeanette Allen, Brian Jeary & Di Brooker and Emmanuel Sapin & Heather Gould beat Chulmleigh 9-0 although Chulmleigh were unlucky to leave without any points after 5 rubbers went to a deciding third end. A close match saw Honiton A beat Chulmleigh 6-3 with Janet Ingram & Ethan Leach unbeaten for Honiton.
The Clyst Vale A team of Jennie Edwards & James Allum, Lucy Ferrier & Dan Cordey and Irene Newcombe & Patrick Cordey secured 6-3 wins over both Honiton B and Axminster and remain unbeaten at the top of Division 3a. Jennie & James were unbeaten in both matches. The Axminster team of Sandy Sheldon & Lester Cawley, Gill Bullock & Eric Samways and Sari Brice & Jay Sweetman beat Cranford B 9-0 although the Cranford duo of Lianne & Duncan O’Donnell were unlucky not to pick up a point losing two of their rubbers in a deciding third end. The Honiton B team of Sue Fallows & Mark Stanley, Zaria Taylor & Simon Walker and Hazel Tucker & Matt Durrant beat St Leonards D 5-4 although no Honiton pair could beat the St Leonards duo of Liz Goodwin & Ali Rehemi. St Leonard D bounced back 4 days later to beat Clyst Vale B 8-1. Liz and Ali were unbeaten once again as were Ann Trevena & Allister Brimble.
A close match in Division 1 saw St Leonards A beat Exeter B 5-4. Six rubbers were decided in third end and the only unbeaten pair on the night were Katie Scotter & Jamie Samuel , on the losing side for Exeter B. Ringswell A beat Exeter B 6-3 with Claire Harrison & Nigel Osborne and Kate Haller & Paul Owens unbeaten for Ringswell. The Cranford A team of Claire Hannah & Jamie Roberton, Lisa Stevens & Joe Davies and Nikita Smethurst & Mark Trebble beat the University 9-0.
