Queens draw level at top of Division 1, while Sidmouth A set the pace in Divsion 2

Queens have drawn level with Ringswell A at the top of Division One of the Mixed league after a 9-0 win over Exeter A. The team of Jamie Dawe/Sarah Preece, James Teale/Mandy Bishop and Ian Kirby/Jackie Kirby dropped just the one set in their comprehensive victory over Exeter, who prop up the bottom of the table.

Sidmouth A have recovered from their opening round defeat to Otter Vale A to storm away at the top of Division 2A after back-to-back victories.

With Grace Williams, Yvonne Hudson and Rachel Irish all coming into the Sidmouth side, Exeter B were beaten 8-1, with Gareth Pearse/Theresa Ford winning a consultation point with a 15-21, 21-19, 21-19 win over Martyn Schmidt/Hudson.

And 8-1 win over Chulmleigh has seen Sidmouth taken a 14 point lead at the top of the division. Carter/Williams and Schmidt/Julie Frost were unbeaten, with Ben Hamill/Fiona Marshall beating Paul Owens/Irish 21-19, 23-25, 21-17 to claim Chulmleigh’s point.

Chulmleigh sit bottom of the league with three defeats from three after they were beaten 6-3 by St Leonards B, with Sam Maltby/Laura Britton, Dan Cordey/Sharon May, and Andy Rowe/Rachel Dare all winning two matches each.

Otter Vale B and Otter Vale C occupy the two top spots in Division 2B. The B team have won both their matches this season and lead the division after a 9-0 win away to Honiton, with no losing pair getting more than 17 in a set.

Sidmouth B though are hot-on-the-heels of Otter Vale C after a 5-4 win over them. Gordon Hutchings/Anne Drury and Tim Hall/Sue O’Brien each won two matches, but led by the unbeaten pair of Harry Williams/Grace Williams, Sidmouth B edged out the win.
