Littler helps Exeter B go a long way to the top

In Division 2, a superlative 3 wins by Exeter B’s Geoff Littler and Gareth Pearse laid the foundations for a solid 7-2 win over second placed St Leonards A. Tim Wardale and Phil Nicholls bagged the 2 points for St Leonards.
Exeter C came away with a win over Queens B. The result was amended from a 7-2 win to a 5-4 win as they fielded an unregistered player. Sunam Uddin and Alistair Banks starred for Exeter by putting in an unbeaten performance.
The return of the St Leonards B captain, Anthony Towl, inspired the Saints to a 9-0 win over a gallant Otter Vale.
The match between Exeter C and St Leonards B was a cliffhanger, with the score level at 4-4 going into the last rubber. Exeter’s Jack Southcott and Rob Flack prevailed 22-20, 21-15 over the Saints pair of Sam Maltby and George Humby to secure the win.
 
Division 3 leaders Honiton notched up their 3rd win of the season, beating Sidmouth B 7-2. Honiton’s Roger Tucker and Ethan Leach were unbeaten, with Graham Baker and Jimmy Newcombe rescuing 2 points for Sidmouth.
St Leonards C’s winning start to the season in Division 3 continues after a convincing 9-0 win over Clyst Vale.
Raleigh celebrated their first win of the season, beating Clyst Vale 6-3. The win came courtesy of the Raleigh pairs of Richard Robinson, Duncan Miller and Steve and Tom Graham who were unbeaten, although 3 of their rubbers went to a 3rd game.
 
Exeter A have jumped to the top of Division 1 after a crushing 9-0 win over a much weakened University team.
A 2 pair Sidmouth A team comprising a trio of Over 40 veterans in John Carter, Paul Carter and Chris Bird plus junior star Harry Williams pulled off a 6-3 win over the University students, thus condemning the students to 4 defeats on the trot.
Cranfords Zak Phillips and Joe Davies led from the front with 3 wins as they steered their team to a battling 6-3 win over Sidmouth A.
Queens A are back in the title race after winning back to back matches. Firstly they recorded a 6-3 win over Cranford. The Queens pair of Tim Goode and Ben Watkins came away with 3 wins and were well supported by Darren Frisby and Ben Herbert (2).
The Frisby/Herbert combo went 1 better with 3 wins in the match against Sidmouth A to steer Queens A to a 7-2 win. Queens Kevin Cobbledick and Simon Brassington also got on the scoresheet with 3 wins.
