Exeter B take Division 2 title in final mach of the season

In Division 3A, Division winners Otter Vale B's Anne Drury, Claire Ross, Sue O'Brien and Susan Ross finished the season by beating second place Honiton 6-0 without dropping a game. Otter Vale B end the season with 45 points, 27 points ahead of Honiton with 18 points, with Cranford and Clyst Vale very close behind with 17 and 16 points respectively.

In Division 2, Ringswell B's Becky Bailey, Sharon Strong Kathryn Brown and Becky Follett clinched a nail bitingly close 4-2 victory over St Leonards B. The last four rubbers were decided in the third end, with Ringswell winning the last three to take the match. The Saint's Nicola Anslow and Rachel Marson picked up both of the Saints' points when they beat their opposite numbers (3&4) and Ringswell's top pair.

This win put Ringswell on level points with rivals Exeter B (and one point behind Otter Vale A) as they went into the last and crucial match of the season against Exeter B. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do to prevent Exeter B emphatically beating them 6-0 to take the Division 2 title. Exeter B finish with 44 points, seven points clear of second place Otter Vale, with Ringswell B just one point behind in third place.
