Exeter B have wrapped up winning Division 2 with a match to spare. They made hard work in overcoming a stubborn Queens B 7-2, with 5 of the rubbers going to a deciding 3rd game. Captain Tom Phillips led from the front with 3 wins, aided by his partner Sam Owens. Teammates Geoff Littler and Chris Bowker (who stood in for his son Ryan) also came away unbeaten.
At the other end of the table, Otter Vale beat Exeter C 5-4 to record their first win of the season. Brian Deem and Mark Brown and Ray Puttick and a fit again David Lloyd bagged a brace of wins, with Nic Williamson and Dan Clark beating Exeters Andy Sands and David Fairbairn 21-16,21-13 in the final decisive rubber.
The St Leonards A team of Tim Wardale, Phil Nicholls, Guy Sweetman, Rami Yedidi, Mark Newson and Leo Robbins brushed aside Exeter C 9-0.
Queens B put in a solid team performance to beat Otter Vale 8-1. Nick Masson, Ed Moffatt, Nathan Scase and Matt Brassington came away with 3 wins, with the 3rd pair of rising star Lloyd Skinner and Matt Burnett pitching in with 2 wins. Ray Puttick and Dan Clark deservedly picked up a point for Otter Vale.
In Division 3 Honiton have had 2 big wins to maintain their advantage at the top. The pairs of Matt Durrant/Jay Sweetman and Kevin Greenwell/Simon Walker were on song with 3 wins apiece in an 8-1 win over Exeter D. Graham Ewings and David Fairbairn picked up the consolation point for Exeter.
They followed this up with a convincing 7-2 win over Clyst Vale, with Matt Durrant pairing up with Roger Tucker to claim 3 wins. Rowan Davey and Kevin Greenwell were also unbeaten for Honiton.
James Newcombe and Graham Baker (3) steered Sidmouth B to their 3rd win of the season, beating Clyst Vale 7-2. Their performance of 3 wins was matched by Simon Heusen and David Bromage.
In Division 1 University had a morale boosting 7-2 win over Ringswell A and in so doing have climbed off the foot of the Division.
Sidmouth A are now in the relegation spot, following a heavy 7-2 defeat at the hands of unbeaten leaders Exeter A. The Exeter combo of Dan Harris and Mark Trebble eased to 3 wins, with teammates Sam Lees and reserve Geoff Littler also unbeaten.
