In Division 1, Ringswell A has increased their lead to 12 points following a 6-0 win in their inhouse derby with Ringswell B. Their unbeaten run now extends to 6 matches.
The Ringswell B team of Chloe Tsang, Li Marker, Sylvia Child and Freya Harris bounced back with a moral boosting 5-1 win over Exeter, to notch up their second win of the season.
St Leonards have had a busy period with 3 matches in the past month. The team of Nikki Anslow, new recruit Cherry Law, Laura Britton and Katie Brown drew 3-3 with the Otter Vale team of Teresa Simic, Jo Smith, June Goode and Heather Rake.
It was a night to forget for more reasons than one as St Leonards crashed to a 6-0 reverse against Exeter. This was only the second win of the season for the Exeter team of Julia Melling, Stacey Horne, Theresa Ford, Hazel Wong
The Queens team of Kate Povey, Grace Lee, Laura Herkes and Mandy Bishop played some great badminton to brush aside St Leonards 6-0. They have a match in hand over leaders Ringswell A so the title fight will go to the end of the season, with the crunch match being in early March between the 2 teams.
Otter Vale B top Division 2 and remain unbeaten this season after 4 matches. The team of Claire Ross, Anne Drury, Mya Walker and Sue O’Brien had a hard fought match against Sidmouth. They had the edge in all games and came away with a 6-0 win, with Sidmouth unlucky not to get any reward for their efforts
Chulmleigh and Cranford also had a close match with great games which wasn’t reflected in the 6-0 scoreline. Michelle Wylde, Lorna See, Karen Parish, Jackie Anderson bagged all the points for Chulmleigh, with the Cranford team of Mo Martin, Lianne O’Donnell, Sharon Young and Maureen White contributing to a good match.
