Ringswell take 2a and 2b titles

 Ringswell B have secured the Division 2a title following wins over both St Leonards C and Chulmleigh.    The Ringswell pairings of Becky Bailey & Andy Taylor and Chloe Tsang & Paul Owens were unbeaten in their 7-2 defeat of St Leonards C. The team of Sylvia Child & Andy Taylor, Becky Bailey & Jordan Medcroft-Coltman and Sharon Strong & Paul Owens finished the season in style with a 9-0 win over Chulmleigh.   The Otter Vale A team of Heather Rake & Brian Deem,  Jo Smith & Daniel Clark and Teresa Simic & Mark Brown beat Sidmouth B 6-3 although no Otter Vale pairing could beat Sidmouth’s Grace Williams & James Newcombe.   Grace and James led the way for Sidmouth B once again when together with Jess Hodge & James Clarke they formed a two pair team to beat Chulmleigh 6-3. 

Ringswell C are celebrating finishing top of Division 2b.  The team of Sharon Strong & Steve Rice, Chloe Tsang & Richard Burn and Becky Follett & Adam Brown beat Otter Vale B 8-1 although the Otter Vale partnership of Sue O’Brien & Jay Sweetman worked hard for their team’s point winning the final rubber of the evening 26-24 in the deciding game.   Sharon & Steve were unbeaten once again when Ringswell C beat Clyst Vale A 7-2 with both of Clyst Vale’s points coming from Nicola Martin & Steve Thompson.   The Otter Vale B team of Susan Ross & Jay Sweetman, Anne Drury & Tim Hall and Maxine & Peter Sweetman beat Cranford 8-1 with Mo Martin & Duncan O’Donnell securing the point for Cranford.  Honiton secured second place in the Division when the team of Jan Ingram & Ethen Leach, Helena Williams & Roger Tucker and Sue Caller & Sam Prangley beat Clyst Vale B 6-3 with all of Clyst Vale’s points coming from Jennie Edwards & Steve Thompson. 
A close match saw Sidmouth A beat Exeter B 5-4.  The match was evenly contested being all square going into the deciding rubber which saw Sidmouth’s Julie Frost & Martyn Schmidt beat Exeter’s Katie Scotter & Gareth Pearse to win the match for Sidmouth A.  Exeter B’s Rowan Despard & Geoff Littler were unbeaten.   The Ringswell A team of Claire Harrison & Nigel Osborne, Sam Huggett & Sam Owens and Jess Hill & Ian Walsh beat St Leonards A 9-0 as did the Exeter A team of Julia Melling & Sam Lees, Rowan Despard & Dan Harris and Stacey Horne & Mark Trebble. St Leonards were unfortunate to walk away from the Exeter match with no points having taken four of the rubber s that evening to a deciding third game.
